It is difficult staying encouraged during this difficult time in all of our lives. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s not an oncoming train, but a new destination. Yet, every destination has a journey, and it is the actions we take on this journey that will determine our destiny.
No Lives Untouched
It is frustrating to see a country founded on biblical principles, built by the hands of strong men and women, freed by the blood of heroes, bonded by the pillars of its past, and inspired by history, collapse to an unseen enemy.
COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives of people around the world, many of us are out of work, lost our jobs, sheltered in place, quarantined, out of school, been infected, or we may know someone who has died. And when it’s all over, there will be no live untouched by this event, but it’s going to take us all to get through it. However, once we come through it, we will have become a different nation and people.
Call For Unity
If there was ever a time for unity, it is now. We must lay aside our differences, and bind together to overcome this difficult time. It’s not going to take a reigning champion or hero to get us through this, but a nation pulling together as one.
The bible tells us that two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor, for if they fall, the one will lift his fellow, but woe to him that is alone when he falls and has no one to lift him. If two lie together, then they have warmth; but how one be warm alone? And if a man prevails against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). The simplicity of these verses is together we stand and divided will fall.
We must stop, pointing the blame or laying the fault on another for the cause of this virus, but use it as an opportunity to make us strong. This country was founded on biblical principles, and it is those same principles that are going to get us through this, and blaming China, the president, and your fellow countrymen will accomplish nothing.
United States, Not Divided States
Instead, we must work together to show that America is stronger today than ever. Today, we are NOT democrats, republicans, independents, or socialists, but Americans. And all of our complaints will accomplish nothing, but making us appear like fools in the sight of our enemies and the world.
Instead, let’s stand up and bind together and demonstrate our real power, which is our unity. We are the United States, NOT the divided States. Let’s prove to the world that we are great despite this virus, and it’s going to take more than a virus to destroy what took centuries to build.
First Timothy Principle
Let COVID-19 bring you down; that is down to your knees, and pray for this country and one another. Because it is there, we will get our answers, and it is there that will bring us comfort. It is time to apply the First Timothy Principle.
The first Timothy Principle states; “First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men, for kings (this includes the president) and all those in authority (this include all government officials) so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God, our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2: 1-4).
The above verse teaches us that the answers we seek are not in the hands of men, but God. We are to pray for those in higher authority, those who manage and oversee our country. And let’s stop looking to Hollywood, News Media, or sports figures for answers, they are nothing more than mere men and women with their own opinions, views, and agendas. Instead, look to God, who loves us more than any Hollywood, News Media, or Sports figures.
Rise From The Ashes
If there is one thing that catastrophes and disasters have brought us, and that’s together. Therefore, let us learn from our past and become one nation under God again. Let’s bind together in prayer, looking unto God, and support one another in this most challenging time. Because when this is all done, we will rise from the ashes as a different nation.
