Ordinary to Legendary

Extraordinary and Legendary performance, why is it essential, and does it matter? If one wishes to become an extraordinary and legendary person, he or she should possess an extraordinary and legendary performance. Because it is your actions, not your words that define who you sincerely are, whether at work or at home.

Your performance is a representation of yourself and your roadmap to success or failure. Poor performance achieves nothing, mediocre performance achieves little, while high performance achieves much. And if you want success, you must become a top performer. And top performers are always seeking ways to improve themselves and others.

Ordinary, Extraordinary, and Legendary

Someone once said that “There are three types of people in the world; the one’s that make things happen, the one’s that watch things happen, and the overwhelming majority who has no clue what happens at all,” and it’s extraordinary and legendary performers that make things happen.

However, within these types, there are three types of performers; ordinary, extraordinary, and legendary. Each of us falls within one of these categories, but it’s the people who make things happen that achieve the highest results, enabling them to become extraordinary and legendary performers.

The truth of the matter is that most are satisfied with being ordinary, and many are willing to become extraordinary. However, there are a few who are willing to do what it takes to become legendary.

Extraordinary and Legendary performers stand out above the rest, their performances are impactful, but it’s the legendary performers that make history.  They have a standout performance, but they also impact lives around them. They have the unique ability to transform the standard to standout.

Legends Are Not Born

You heard it said that “Legends are not born, they are created;” legendary performance doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t have it one day and the next day you do, you have to work at it, and it will not come easy.

If you look back on the lives of legendary people, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Gandhi, and others, it should come as no surprise that it takes hard work to become legendary. I am not eluding that you will become legendary as they are, but they are models to our road too extraordinary and legendary performance.

The legendary men and women of history had several things in common. They were passionate about their cause. They had faith and belief in what they were to achieve. And they decided to make a difference regardless of the challenges they encountered, but they had the passion, faith, and commitment to succeed despite them.

Your Decisions

Zig Ziegler once said that “No person can perform above that which he sees himself,” therefore the only limitation of your performance is you (see my article on You are Your Limitation). Your past influenced who you are today, but it is your decisions that will make you what you want to become tomorrow.

Possessing sound and robust decision-making skills is essential to leading an extraordinary life. However, it is unfortunate that many don’t even consider the impact their decisions have on themselves and others. We must consider that we all make choices, but in the end, our choices make us.

Paul Arden once said, “If you always make the right decision, the safe decision, the one most people make, you will be the same as everyone else.” And becoming an extraordinary and legendary person may require us to make tough decisions.

To achieve extraordinary and legendary performance, it starts with a decision inspired by faith and fueled by passion. You are ordinary by default, extraordinary by design, and legendary by choice.  You are the make-up of your decisions. However, decisions fueled by passion and a commitment to succeed is unstoppable.

However, if you do nothing, you get nothing, because life is about the decision you make, either you make them, or someone else will make them for you.

Your Daily Agenda

Now, this transformation doesn’t happen overnight; it’s accomplished through patience, a series of events, and managed by your daily agenda.  Many of us fail to realize that our daily agenda and the decision we make each day determines our path to success.

Your Attitude

Becoming an extraordinary and legendary person, you must have an extraordinary and legendary performance. And if you are to have an extraordinary and legendary performance, you must have an extraordinary and legendary attitude.

Your attitude has a significant impact on your life and the lives of those around you. Studies have shown that our attitude is influenced by our perception and drives who we are destined to become.

Also, studies have shown that those who have a negative attitude will attract negativity into their lives, while those with positive outlooks will attract that which is positive. In other words, positive attitudes can cultivate positive changes.

Conclusion

Your performance is a representation of yourself, and a reflection of your character, and roadmap to your success. The only limit to achieving extraordinary and legendary performance is you. You are a remarkable person, created in God’s image, designed to do great things, examine your daily agenda, and adjust if necessary and don’t hold yourself back.
